Welcome to Ordered Worship.
I’ve long found a deep peace in the beauty, structure, and rhythm of Catholic liturgy.
In this space, I hope to reflect quietly on why ordered worship speaks to the soul, and what it reveals about the mystery of God.
Sometimes I will veer into liturgical minutiae, but today I want to share how structured worship speaks to my soul. As someone who struggles to approach God in a purely personal or conversational way, I find that worshiping God through solemn ritual resonates more deeply. The ancient prayers of the Traditional Latin Mass and the Breviary help me connect to God in a way that spontaneous or extroverted prayer does not. When I cannot find words of my own, it is a consolation to know I can pray in the voice of the Church — as Catholics have prayed for centuries.
